The RCMP Heritage Centre is a registered charitable organization (BN 865622617RR0001). We issue charitable tax receipts for all donations larger than $10.
As a not-for-profit charitable organization, the RCMP Heritage Centre relies on generous donations from people like you, in order to keep programming running and to upkeep our extraordinary building. When you donate monthly, your donation helps all year long by providing a consistent revenue stream that allows us to operate between grants and maintain our services consistently during shoulder seasons. Our online platform seamlessly allows you to make a one-time or monthly donation. Thank you so much for your support! Leaving a bequest in your Will is a generous, profound, and a surprisingly simple gesture. As a museum, we understand the benefit and importance of legacy. Donations to the Heritage Centre of $5,000 or more are recognized on our stately donor recognition wall, in the Regimental Lobby, etched in stone. There are many ways to leave a bequest in your Will. Examples include a gift of securities or stock, gift of RRSP/RRIF, gift of a Life Insurance policy, gift of Real Property, or even a simple percentage (%) or amount ($) of your estate. Legacy gifts can provide great tax advantages in your estate. Your charitable tax receipt will provide your estate with 100% tax advantage on the total amount donated. Legacy gifts are a tool used by Financial Advisors as a way to help you offset taxes that can occur in your estate (for example, through the tax cost of RRSPs and RRIFs). There are three simple steps for creating a legacy gift to the RCMP Heritage Centre: Please contact us to inform us of your intentions of a legacy gift. It gives us a chance to thank you now, and more importantly to talk to you about how your gift will best support the RCMP Heritage Centre. Every legacy gift is recognized at the RCMP Heritage Centre, and makes a remarkable difference to our cause. If you would like to learn more about this type of giving, please email info@rcmphc.com or call 306-522-7333 and we will be happy to discuss. Did you know you can donate shares, stock options, and capital property to registered charities like ours? Gifts of securities is an easy and cost-efficient way to donate to the RCMP Heritage Centre. When you donate appreciated stocks, mutual funds, employee stock options or flow through shares through your brokerage account to the RCMP Heritage Centre brokerage account, you will receive a charitable tax receipt and you will pay no tax on the capital gains of your appreciated securities. If you would like to learn more about this type of giving, please email info@rcmphc.com or call 306-522-7333 and we will be happy to discuss. For a modest cost, similar to monthly giving, you can make a substantial gift to the RCMP Heritage Centre through a gift of life insurance. By making the RCMP Heritage Centre the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you ensure that the Centre will receive the death benefit of the policy. You can donate an existing policy or purchase a new policy. The gift is flexible. You can structure the policy so that you only pay premiums for a limited time, select the number of payments, or even make a single payment to set up and prepay the policy. The arrangement you choose will depend on your objectives, the needs of those close to you, and your age. You can choose when you receive the tax benefits. Receive the benefits in your lifetime – transfer ownership of a new or existing policy to the RCMP Heritage Centre. You will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for the cash surrender value each year, plus you will receive a charitable donation tax receipt annually thereafter for the annual premiums paid. Your estate receives the benefits – designate the RCMP Heritage Centre as a beneficiary of a new or existing policy. Upon your death, your estate will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for the value of the death benefit. This can help offset any estate taxes that may occur. Gifts of life insurance are not subject to probate fees. Therefore, they are paid quickly. If you would like to learn more about this type of giving, please email info@rcmphc.com or call 306-522-7333 and we will be happy to discuss. Making a charitable gift of a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) is simple, and can have a huge positive impact on a registered charity such as ours. You can make a donation of all or a portion of any remaining retirement funds upon your death by naming the RCMP Heritage Centre as a beneficiary on your plan. This is a simple and inexpensive way to make a legacy gift. This type of donation will result in your estate receiving a charitable donation tax receipt valued at 100% of the amount donated. Gifts of retirement funds are not subject to probate. This type of charitable gift is paid out quickly. For further information on how to name the RCMP Heritage Centre as a beneficiary of your RRSP or RRIF, please contact your plan provider. If you would like to learn more about this type of giving, please email info@rcmphc.com or call 306-522-7333 and we will be happy to discuss.
